Frequently Asked Questions

  • My Global Midwifery Fee is $5,750. This fee includes all prenatal care, all routine lab work, labor, delivery, immediate postpartum and newborn care. A $500 non-refundable booking and registration deposit is required at your first visit and payment in full is required by 36 weeks.

      • Postpartum instructions 

      • Clean up of birth area, including starting laundry and taking out trash

      • Immediate postpartum visits in your home

      • 2-week and 6-week postpartum visits in office

    • Newborn care

      • Comprehensive newborn exam after the Golden Hour, in your presence and next to you

      • Newborn screening (if desired) and CCHD

      • Eye prophylaxis (if desired)

      • Well-baby care for up to 6 weeks postpartum

    • Legal filing

      • Birth certificate filed with the State of Texas

  • Any additional lab work, birth pool, sonograms, Rhogam (if needed), birth supplies not included in the midwife's kit, lactation specialist, ambulance or hospital fees (in the event of a transport/transfer).

  • If care is discontinued before 36 weeks, an itemized invoice is provided and any funds paid over the invoiced amount are refunded. No refunds are offered after 36 weeks of care.

  • A midwife is a licensed healthcare provider (Licensed Midwife by the State of Texas and  Certified Professional Midwife by NARM). She provides some medical care and monitors the well-being of mother and baby prenatally, during labor, and in the postpartum period. She is trained and equipped to handle emergencies, should they arise.

    A doula is trained to provide physical, emotional, and educational support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period.

  • We serve the Abilene, TX area and will also travel up to 100 miles to provide home birth services.
