Prenatal Care
As your pregnancy care provider, I personally take care of you for all of your prenatal visits. Throughout our prenatal visits, we can not only ensure the health of you and your baby, but also build a connection with one another and foster continuity of care so that you feel comfortable and safe with me when it comes time for you to give birth. Prenatal care includes things like:
Complimentary consultation for potential clients to meet the midwife and ask all of their important questions
Prenatal visits in my Abilene office (most visits last about an hour)
Prenatal visit in client's home at 36-37 weeks
Appropriate labs, sonograms, and testing offered throughout care
Childbirth education, breastfeeding education, nutritional and exercise recommendations, and advice about common discomforts of pregnancy offered throughout care
Phone, text, and email support throughout care
Your other children are welcome at prenatal visits
Labor & Home Birth
Emotional and physical support throughout labor and birth
Freedom to labor and birth in any position the client wants
Freedom to eat, drink, and be mobile throughout labor
Access to birth ball, birth tub (if desired) and other comfort measures
Knowledge, preparation, and supplies on hand in the rare case of an emergency
Perineal healing modalities in the immediate postpartum
Baby goes right into your arms after birth and the golden hour is respected and encouraged
Doulas welcomed and encouraged
